  1. When will you provide code used in Silverlight 4 For Dummies? I just purchased your book.

  2. Hi Gary – The publisher has all the code. Should be online soon. I suggest you check back in a day or so. Let me know if it is still not available.

  3. Mahesh:

    Great book, I really enjoyed it and has helped me get started in Silverlight.

    Just one thing, the source code for chapter 13 seems incorrect/incomplete as all the zips (part 1 to 8) are exactly the same size and the web project is missing from all of them.

    Is there any chance you can send the the corrected zip for chapter 13?

    Regards,
    Martin.

  4. Hi,
    I am reading your book “Silverlight 4 for dummies”. I have a few question regarding your book. In chapter 12 SilverlightForDummiesRIA samples, I don’t get Fig 12-2, instead VS2010 create a database ASPNETDB.NET in App_Data folder for me. How can I get this to work ? Also, I have problem deployiing the application to the web server. When I log in to the application, I will have an error when logging in. “There was a failure using the default ‘MembershipProvider’…” I have published other asp.net to the web server and without any problem. Can you tell me what do I need to setup in the server or web.config please. Thanks in advance.

  5. As Martin Hart said, The source code for chapter 13 is incomplete

    Is there any chance you can send the the corrected zip for chapter 13?

    • Chapter 13 was written by Philip Beadle. The best to get the source code for that chapter is to contact him directly. His email is Philip(dot)Beadle(at)live(dot)com(dot)au

  6. I am having a problem with the HttpWebRequest example in Chapter 10. Help please.

    The line

    ContentText.Dispatcher.BeginInvoke( () =>(ContentText.Text=responseValue;));

    raises some errors about the syntax.

  7. For the download of a large file example in Chapter 10, please tell me hot to save the file to disk.

  8. Please provide info about saving the large download example file to disk.

  9. Thanks, but no reply yet from your coauthor. I was able to work through most of the examples. There is some problem with the authorization attribute (raises an error). Also the dataform does not allow adding/saving/deleting — any direction would be appreciated.
